Getting started

Welcome to the SURF documentation. This page covers what SURF is and how this documentation is put together, so you know where to look before you start. If you are here for a specific product guide, go straight to SURF Guides.

About SURF

SURF is a Zero Trust enterprise browser. It applies your security and access policy inside the browser itself, so managed and unmanaged devices, contractors, and BYOD users can reach corporate applications without a VDI layer or a separate remote access stack. Administration is handled centrally through the SURF admin console.

SURF is also available as Check Point Enterprise Browser, powered by SURF. The two builds share the same underlying product, and the documentation notes where a step differs between them.

How this documentation is organised

• Getting started: this page. Product overview and orientation to the documentation.
• SURF Guides: the product guides themselves, for administrators and for end users. Pick the guide that matches what you are doing.
• Integrations: connecting SURF to your identity provider, device management platform, and logging tools.
• Reference: lookup material you return to rather than read end to end.
• Getting help: raise a ticket with the SURF support team when the documentation does not cover it.

Using this documentation

• Navigate from the left. The contents panel lists every section. Expand a section to see the pages inside it.
• Use the on-page contents for long guides. Longer pages carry a list of headings so you can jump to the part you need rather than scrolling.
• Check who a page is written for. Administrator material assumes access to the SURF admin console. End user material assumes none, and is written to be shared directly with staff.
• Share pages by link. Every page has its own address, so you can send a colleague a specific procedure instead of the whole guide.
• If something is missing or out of date, tell us through the support portal. The documentation is updated alongside the product.
