Policies UI Guide
The policies screen manages how all SURF browsers function, respond and protect, with control over the most critical aspects and intuitive designs the features provide. All security changes and choices are made within this section.
From left to right:
- Configure different policies for a selected group within the organisation (only pre-created groups are visible).
- Use the search bar to find a specific policy.
- Within the group, select a specific IP address range so that only users with a matching source will be affected. It is recommended to duplicate the policy and keep one for users not coming from the defined network; otherwise, the user will receive the company group policy. Click + to add a range to choose from (cannot be applied to the default Company Group).
- Choose between applying the policies on users connected with the SURF browser itself/ users with the SURF extension installed on Edge, Chrome, etc. or users of any kind. Pay close attention: if a user does not meet any of the conditions that were configured, they will be assigned to the default company group. For best practice it is recommended to duplicate the policy group and make adjustments to fit your needs.
- Search users from the organisation to add to the current group (Cant be applied to the default Company Group).
- Settings Icon allows to:
- Reorder policies display.
- Change policy refresh time- how often users will load the policies of their group without manually refreshing.
- Duplicate/Delete policy group: duplicate a policy group instantly creates a group with the same configurations/delete a duplicated group (Company Group cannot be duplicated or deleted).
